Mark Zuckerberg on Google Plus, Facebook Founder story on Google+

Nice news these days. Mark Zuckerberg has a profile on Google+. And he has maximum number of followers and then came this news. I am keeping my readers updated on this. The parent post can be seen from Click

Please be notified that this excerpt is from Fox news.

Mark Zuckerberg, the billionaire founder of Facebook, has gone from hero to zero -- on Google+ anyway.
Zuckerberg made headlines last week when his profile soared to the top of the popularity charts on the rival Google+ social network. As of July 5, he had 10,000 more followers than Google founder Larry Page, and nearly twice as many as co-founder Sergey Brin.
But late Tuesday night, the social network king mysteriously dropped off the charts at SocialStatistics.com entirely -- as did several key Google executives.

RELATED STORIES:

"Mark Zuckerberg and Google management (Matt Cutts, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Vic Gundotra and Marissa Mayer) all changed their profiles overnight and consequently dropped out of the Google+ top 100 list!" explained Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten, the founder of tech news site thenextweb.com and the creator of the top 100 list.
A post at thenextweb listed some potential explanations for the change: from experiments with privacy features to a new company policy for Googlers on the network designed to curb the popularity contest.
A Facebook spokesman did not immediately respond to FoxNews.com questions about the change, nor did representatives for the Google+ social network.
With Zuckerberg off the list, first place falls to popular blogger and technologist Robert Scoble, who has 43,131 followers on the new social network, followed by tech journalist Leo Laporte with 42,875 and Digg founder Kevin Rose with 38,287.
Zuckerberg has yet to post a status update on the upstart social networking (though his profile picture was recently updated), leading many to question at first whether it was even the real Mark Zuckerberg.
His identity was confirmed by Scoble, who tweeted Zuckerberg's surprise that people doubted him: "Zuckerberg just texted me back. Says 'Why are people so surprised that I'd have a Google account?'"

Can google plus sustain growth [Google+]

I read abeautiful article at one place.

The synopsys is as follows:

Give credit to Google: Its strategic and orchestrated launch of Google+ has been nearly flawless.

Early reviews were positive but reserved, thanks to Google’s failure with Google Buzz. Like clockwork though, technology celebrities like Robert Scoble and Kevin Rose starting flooding Google’s social network and singing its praises. Taking a cue from Gmail, Google released invites in small bursts, sparking a clamor for invites across the web.

The result of Google’s carefully planned campaign is an estimated user base of 10 million in just two weeks. More importantly, engagement on Google+ is extremely high, with many reporting they get more responses on Google+ than they do on Twitter or Facebook. It’s clear that Google+ has momentum.

That’s nice, but the momentum is starting to blind Google+ users and the press to reality. Here’s the truth: Google+ is dominated almost entirely by early adopters. And early adopters, while important, are not great predictors of the success of a social network.

More males on Google plus (Male-opoly)

Here’s an interesting tidbit from the Google+ stats trackers: Three quarters (or more) of Google+ users are male.

SocialStatistics, a third-party site that gathers data from select profiles, pegs the percentage of male users at 86.8%, while FindPeopleOnPlus, which curates information from about a million users, says men constitute 73.7% of Google+.

FindPeopleOnPlus also discovered that 95% of the Google+ users who say they are “looking for love” on the site are male. Some 25,000 users in their sample identify themselves as single, versus 19,000 married and 12,000 in a relationship. The vast majority of the million users sampled don’t say what they are.

With around 60% of users identifying themselves as web developers or software engineers, that paints a fairly stereotypical picture of Google+’s userbase: nerdy guys who have deep understandings of technology and who don’t mind killing some time setting up Circles of friends.

It’s true that the early adopters of any new technology are usually male. But Google+ will have to appeal to a mainstream audience if it’s to reach mass adoption anytime soon. Consider the gender breakdown for Google+’s biggest competitor, Facebook. The social network is close to a 50-50 split between men and women. And some of Facebook’s most addicted, most enthusiastic users are women.

Meanwhile, Google is about to stop requiring users to input their gender — meaning analysts may get less accurate stats as time progresses.

Why 'Google Plus Not Facebook' phenomenon may happen?

There is no doubt that people are too addicted to Facebook. It would be quite tough for Google+ to gain some significant amount of FB users. As speculated as of now, users will still keep their FB accounts rather than deleting entirely their FB profiles. They may and certainly some will try Google plus for a while.

But the point is will that point come when user would completely disregard their FB accounts and come to Google Plus. I regard this 'Google Plus Not Facebook' Phenomenon. What can trigger this to occur might be anything [May be Google buys FB, who knows ;)] But seriously, if this is to occur there must be a lot in Google+ to offer.

Three important points that come to my mind:

1) The only obvious reason as of now that users might consider to switch from FB to Google+ would be the privacy and data protection issues. Some report that they are sick of their data being used to spam and send unwanted requests in Facebook. Now if Google really comes up with some innovative idea related to this menace, it would be a jump off for it. Or else, Google Wave could be repeated.

2) The second reason could be an absolute XSS attack free Google Plus platform. With no scope of scams. But this is a very big target to achive, since hackers will always find their way.

3) If Google Plus makes its platform very very easy to develop Apps and in some way give more benefits to developer, then a lot of FB App developers may switch to this platform. Definitely, more Apps means more user attraction.

I am totally with this new Platform. As change is Life. So does Google Plus seem to me as of now. But I fear the much hyped Google+ fancy features, for instance 'Circles', is not in a way enough to attract loyal FB users. And worst of all, FB might be able to clone that somehow in its current platform easily. The name might be different. But it is not at all any deal.

I am really keen to know about future developments in Google Plus, its formal launch, and what Facebook has in its store. And I promise to keep my readers posted. After all that is what this blog is all about. [PS: Click on Advertisements man. That is the only thing that keeps this blog alive.]

Google Plus - Social Networking - Latest Buzz in Industry

Google plus is the latest buzz in the industry. Google has given this project a tagline "Real Life sharing, rethought for the web."

At the moment, they're testing with a small number of people, but it won't be long before the Google+ project is ready for everyone. You can Leave them your email address and they say that they'll make sure that you're the first to know when they're ready to invite more people.

Google plus project has come up with hsome new ideas. Some of them are as follows:

1) Circle: The easiest way to share some things with college buddies, others with your parents and almost nothing with your boss.
2) Hangouts: Let friends know that you're free for a video hangout, any time, anywhere. Then catch up, watch YouTube or... just hang out.
3) Sparks: A feed of only the things that you're really into, so when you're free, there's always something waiting to be watched, read or shared.
4) Huddle: Though this name suggests me of Hubble Telescope. But Google has come up with a new ter. It says Texting is great, but not when you’re trying to get six different people to decide on a movie. Huddle turns all those different conversations into one simple group chat, so everyone gets on the same page all at once. Your thumbs will thank you.
[PS: The above descriptions are by Google Official Website itself.]

You can see the colorful Home Page of Google Plus in the attached ScreenShot. Obviously, it is temporary one, but it reflects the joy and zest with which Google has come up. Best of Luck Google.

The title of this post would have been 'what is Google Plus', or 'Why to join Google Plus' , or 'Google Plus versus Facebook' or even 'Google Plus Features'. But I kept the title simple only to make it more generic. All the other questions would be answered in different posts.
